Day 86

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

Day 86 - Day 1 at Disney included:

- It's a Small World

- Dumbo

- Pirates of the Caribbean
- The roller coaster in ToonTown (Malia did awesome on this ride!)

- Buzz Lightyear Ride

- Jungle Cruise
- We met up with Caden's teacher (Mrs. Foote) and through some connections we were able to ride the Lilly Belle on the Disney Steam Engine.  This is a special caboose that rarely makes an appearance, one that Walt Disney built for his wife.  A great treat!  Caden, Bailey, and I then got to ride the train again, only this time we rode in the "tender seat," which is right behind the engineer.  Got a first-class lesson in steam engines and the kids loved it!

- Swimming at the hotel, The Grand Californian (our room faces Downtown Disney - how cool!)

- Kids got dressed up (Bailey is really into his brother's desire to dress cool!) and headed to the hotel arcade

Missing Leigh Ann will forever be a part of this trip.  I will always wish she could be here to enjoy this week with us.  Leigh loved Disney.  But I'm slowly learning that new memories can be made - they have to be made - and the four of us certainly did that today.

Prayer Requests:
- Prayers for Flexibility and Energy!  I packed "5-hour Energy Drinks," but even those aren't enough to keep up with three kids.  Day One and feet/back are hurtin'.  Tomorrow we're adding four more adults (Judy/Gene, Gloria/Ken) and two more kids (Cousins Ryan/Meagan).
- Prayers for the kids to really get along with each other.
- Prayers for my brother's health as he's not feeling well.
- Prayers that God would bless the many who continue to pray for us.

"Father, thank You for a time to get away and enjoy some family time.  Thank You that some smiles can still be found in life.  Thank You that I'm blessed with healthy, happy kids.  I pray that You allow this trip to be a new beginning for me and the kids."
